When Did Hyundai Make Their First Electric Vehicle?

Hyundai developed their first purely electric vehicle in 1991. That was the Sonata Electric Vehicle. Hyundai intended to develop 6 electric vehicles for testing by the end of 1992. Hyundai produced their first fully electric vehicle for the commercial market, the BlueOn, in 2009 and 2010. This model was a 5-door hatchback car with a top speed of 81 miles per hour and an all-electric range of 87 miles. Hyundai produced a total of 30 vehicles for field testing in South Korea in 2010.
